Terms Used In Iowa Code 479.33
- Board: means the utilities board within the utilities division of the department of commerce. See Iowa Code 479.2
- Department: means the department of natural resources. See Iowa Code 462A.2
- Pipeline: means a pipe, pipes, or pipelines used for the transportation or transmission of a solid, liquid, or gaseous substance, except water, within or through this state. See Iowa Code 479.2
- United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
The board may enter into agreements with and receive moneys from the United States department of transportation for the inspection of pipelines to determine compliance with applicable standards of pipeline safety, and for enforcement of the applicable standards of pipeline safety as provided by Pub. L. No. 103-272, as codified in 49 U.S.C. § 60101 – 60125.
