Terms Used In Iowa Code 479B.23
- Board: means the utilities board within the utilities division of the department of commerce. See Iowa Code 479B.2
- Department: means the department of natural resources. See Iowa Code 462A.2
- Pipeline: means an interstate pipe or pipeline and necessary appurtenances used for the transportation or transmission of hazardous liquids. See Iowa Code 479B.2
- United States: includes all the states. See Iowa Code 4.1
The board may enter into agreements with and receive moneys from the United States department of transportation for the inspection of pipelines to determine compliance with applicable standards of pipeline safety, and for enforcement of the applicable standards of pipeline safety as provided by 49 U.S.C. § 60101 et seq.
