Terms Used In Iowa Code 633.256

  • Court: means , when referring to a court of this state, the district court sitting in probate with jurisdiction of conservatorships and guardianships. See Iowa Code 633.701
  • security: includes , but is not limited to, a certificated security, an uncertificated security, and a security account. See Iowa Code 633D.2
  • Surviving spouse: means the surviving wife or husband, as the case may be. See Iowa Code 633.3
  • year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
 No sale shall be made under section 633.254 if anyone interested gives security to the satisfaction of the court, conditioned to pay the surviving spouse the appraised value of the share with seven percent interest on the same, within such reasonable time as the court may fix, not exceeding one year.
