Terms Used In Iowa Code > Chapter 10D - Agricultural Land Interests of Qualified Enterprises

• Agricultural land: means land suitable for use in farming as defined in section 9H. See Iowa Code 10D.1
• Baby chicks: means the same as defined in section 168. See Iowa Code 10D.1
• Contagious or infectious disease: means hepatitis in any form, meningococcal disease, AIDS or HIV as defined in section 141A. See Iowa Code 709D.2
• Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
• Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
• enterprise: means a limited liability company as defined in section 489. See Iowa Code 10D.1
• Exposes: means engaging in conduct that poses a substantial risk of transmission. See Iowa Code 709D.2
• following: when used by way of reference to a chapter or other part of a statute mean the next preceding or next following chapter or other part. See Iowa Code 4.1
• Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.
• person: means individual, corporation, limited liability company, government or governmental subdivision or agency, business trust, estate, trust, partnership or association, or any other legal entity. See Iowa Code 4.1
• Practical means to prevent transmission: means substantial good-faith compliance with a treatment regimen prescribed by the person's health care provider, if applicable, and with behavioral recommendations of the person's health care provider or public health officials, which may include but are not limited to the use of a medically indicated respiratory mask or a prophylactic device, to measurably limit the risk of transmission of the contagious or infectious disease. See Iowa Code 709D.2
• state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" may include the said district and territories. See Iowa Code 4.1
• year: means twelve consecutive months. See Iowa Code 4.1
