  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.

If any provision of this act, or the application thereof to any person or circumstance, is held invalid, the remainder of this act and the application of such provision to other persons or circumstances shall not be affected thereby. No caption to any section shall in any way affect the interpretation of this act, or any part thereof.
