Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 65-241
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201
As used in K.S.A. 65-241 to 65-246, inclusive: (a) “Local health department” means any county, city-county or multicounty department of health.
(b) “Secretary” means secretary of health and environment.
(c) “Fiscal year” means the period commencing January 1 of any year and ending December 31 of the same year.
(d) “State financial assistance” means the total amount of money available for distribution to local health departments under this act.
