  • Board: means the board of county commissioners. See Kansas Statutes 68-580
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The clerk of the township board shall keep an accurate record of all official acts, and a detailed record of the proceedings of the board, in a well-bound book, to be provided by the township for that purpose. The record shall be signed by the chairperson and the clerk and kept open for inspection at any reasonable time. The record and system of township accounting shall be uniform throughout the state. Each of the township highway commissioners shall receive compensation for the time actually and necessarily spent while performing duties as township highway commissioners. The amount of such compensation shall be determined by the township board as provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 80-207, and amendments thereto. The board of township highway commissioners may employ one or more of the members of the board of township highway commissioners to perform work and labor on the township roads of such township and bridges thereon.
