Terms Used In Kansas Statutes 68-542

  • Board: means the board of county commissioners. See Kansas Statutes 68-580
  • County: means any county. See Kansas Statutes 68-580
  • Devise: To gift property by will.
  • road: include public bridges and may be construed to be equivalent to "county way" "county road" "common road" "state road" and "territorial road. See Kansas Statutes 77-201

The county engineer shall call a one-day meeting of all of the county and township road officials in each county at least once each year, for the purpose of discussing any and all matters pertaining to the improvement of the highways, bridges and culverts of the county and of the several townships, and to devise means of systematizing and standardizing the work. County officials in attending such meetings shall each receive from the county the same compensation as specified by law for county work. Township officials shall be compensated in an amount determined by the township board as provided by Kan. Stat. Ann. § 80-207, and amendments thereto.
