The board, each member of the board, the executive director and any hearing officer of the board and the secretary shall have the power to administer oaths, subpoena witnesses, and compel the production of books and papers pertinent to any investigation or hearing authorized by KRS § 18A.005 to KRS § 18A.200. Any person who shall fail to appear in response to a subpoena or to answer any question or produce any books or papers pertinent to any such investigation or hearing or who shall knowingly give false testimony therein shall be subject to the provisions of KRS § 18A.990.

  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Board: means the Personnel Board created by KRS §. See Kentucky Statutes 18A.005
  • branch budget: means an enactment by the General Assembly which provides appropriations and establishes fiscal policies and conditions for the biennial financial plan for the judicial branch, the legislative branch, and the executive branch, which shall include a separate budget bill for the Transportation Cabinet. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Secretary: means the secretary of the Personnel Cabinet as provided for in KRS
    18A. See Kentucky Statutes 18A.005
  • Subpoena: A command to a witness to appear and give testimony.
  • Testimony: Evidence presented orally by witnesses during trials or before grand juries.
