  • Probation: A sentencing alternative to imprisonment in which the court releases convicted defendants under supervision as long as certain conditions are observed.

            A. All probation and parole supervision fees received by the Department of Public Safety and Corrections pursuant to Children’s Code Articles 781.1 and 901.1 and any amounts appropriated by the legislature to the Youthful Offender Management Dedicated Fund Account shall be deposited immediately upon receipt into the state treasury.

            B. After compliance with the requirements of La. Const. Art. VII, § 9(B) , relative to the Bond Security and Redemption Fund, and prior to monies being placed in the state general fund, an amount equal to that deposited as required by Subsection A of this Section shall be credited to the special agency account hereby created in the state treasury to be known as the “Youthful Offender Management Dedicated Fund Account”.
