  • Adult: means an individual who has attained the age of eighteen years. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Applicant: means any local governing authority requesting a loan from or completing an application form to apply for  a loan under the Rural Development Loan Program. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:387
  • Aquaculture: means the producing, raising, managing, harvesting, transporting, or marketing of aquatic livestock in privately owned waters or ponds as defined in R. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • Aquatic Chelonian: means terrapins and turtles. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-303
  • Aquatic livestock: means domestic aquatic, nongame, native, freshwater organisms produced, raised, managed, or harvested within or from a constructed impoundment in compliance with rules and regulations adopted pursuant to this Part. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • Aquatic producer: means any person engaged in producing, raising, managing, harvesting, or marketing aquatic livestock. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • Articles: means the original articles of incorporation and all amendments thereto including those contained in merger agreements or, if restated, the latest restatement thereof except in those instances in which the context refers expressly to the original articles of incorporation only.   • Assets: means all of a state bank's property and rights of every kind. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:201
  • Association: means any association or corporation organized under this Part. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:315
  • Board: means the Louisiana Aquatic Chelonian Research and Promotion Board. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-303
  • Broker: means a person lawfully engaged in the business of effecting transactions in securities or commodities for the person's own account or for the account of others. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Capital: means the sum of capital stock, surplus, and undivided profits or, as to mutual state banks, as defined by R. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:201
  • Commissioner: means the Louisiana commissioner of agriculture and forestry. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:401

  • Facility: means any piece of property that contains a constructed impoundment or other area where aquatic livestock are produced, raised, managed, harvested, or marketed. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • FDIC: means the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, and includes any successor to the corporation or other agency or instrumentality of the United States which may undertake to discharge the purposes of the corporation. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:381
  • Federal agency: means any department, office, council, or agency of the federal government, or any public benefit corporation or authority authorized by federal statute. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:387
  • Fiduciary: means any person, firm, partnership, association, or state bank, including a usufructuary, who or which occupies a position of peculiar confidence toward any person, firm, association, partnership, trust, or estate. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:201
  • Financial institution: means a bank, trust company, savings institution, or credit union, chartered and supervised under state or federal law. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Impoundment: means any private, constructed pond, lake, reservoir, tank, cage, or other means of containment that has no inlet from or outlet to any public waters. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • inventory value: as used in this Subpart , means the cost of property purchased by the trustee and the market value of other property at the time it became subject to the trust, but in the case of a testamentary trust the trustee may use any value finally determined for the purposes of an estate tax.   • Legal representative: means an individual's personal representative or tutor. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Minor: means an individual who has not attained the age of eighteen years. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Office: means the state office of rural development created by this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:387
  • past due child support: means the amount of a delinquency determined under a court order under state law for support and maintenance of a child. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:1985
  • Person: means an individual, partnership, firm, company, association, corporation, limited liability company, and any other legal entity or group of persons. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 10:9-204
  • Person: means an individual, corporation, organization, or other legal entity. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Personal representative: means an executor, administrator, or representative of a decedent's estate or a person legally authorized to perform substantially the same functions. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • property: means immovable property, including servitudes and other rights in or to immovable property, and any electric light, gas or waterworks plants. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:371

  • Rural areas: means parishes within the state having less than one hundred thousand population, or municipalities within the state having less than thirty-five thousand population, and the  unincorporated areas of a parish with a population of over one hundred thousand.   • Rural development and revitalization: means those policies, programs, laws, regulations, or other matters having to do with rural areas, including but not limited to economic development, employment, local government services and management, business, agriculture, environment, land use and natural resources, human services and community life, health care, education, transportation, community facilities, and housing. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:387
  • State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Transfer: means a transaction that creates custodial property under R. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Transferor: means a person who makes a transfer under this Subpart. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Trust company: means a financial institution, corporation, or other legal entity authorized to exercise general trust powers. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
  • Tutor: means a person appointed or qualified by a court to act as guardian of a minor's property or a person legally authorized to perform substantially the same functions, including but not limited to a curator. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:2156
