1. Federal law and regulation. A person subject to this chapter shall comply with the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and the provisions of 12 C.F.R. § 1022.1 et seq., as amended.

Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 1309

  • Administrator: means the Superintendent of Consumer Credit Protection within the Department of Professional and Financial Regulation. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 1308
  • Fair Credit Reporting Act: A federal law, established in 1971 and revised in 1997, that gives consumers the right to see their credit records and correct any mistakes. Source: OCC
  • Person subject to this chapter: means a person subject to the provisions of the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act and a consumer reporting agency. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 10 Sec. 1308
  • United States: includes territories and the District of Columbia. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 1 Sec. 72
2. Rules. Subject to the limitations in 15 United States Code § 1681t, the administrator may adopt rules not inconsistent with the provisions of 12 C.F.R. § 1022.1 et seq., as amended; 16 C.F.R. § 681.1 et seq.; and 16 C.F.R. § 682.1 et seq. Rules adopted pursuant to this subsection are routine technical rules as defined in Title 5, chapter 375, subchapter 2?A.
