Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 17 Sec. 2270

  • Litter: includes waste materials resulting from or associated with the use of tobacco products, including, but not limited to, cigarette butts, all waste materials resulting from the outdoor release or abandonment of a balloon and all waste materials resulting from the use of consumer fireworks.   • Trailer: means any vehicle without motive power, designed for carrying persons or property and for being drawn by a motor vehicle. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 17 Sec. 2263
Responsibility for the removal of litter from litter receptacles placed at parks, beaches, campgrounds, trailer parks and other publicly owned public places shall remain upon those state and local agencies performing litter removal, and removal of litter from litter receptacles placed upon privately owned public places shall remain the responsibility of the owner of said premises.
