Terms Used In Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 3704

  • cooperative: means any corporation organized under this chapter or which becomes subject to this chapter in the manner provided. See Maine Revised Statutes Title 35-A Sec. 3703
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
The name of a cooperative shall be distinct from the name of any other cooperative or corporation organized under the laws of, or authorized to do business in this State. [PL 1987, c. 141, Pt. A, §6 (NEW).]
