  • Answer: The formal written statement by a defendant responding to a civil complaint and setting forth the grounds for defense.
  • Interrogatories: Written questions asked by one party of an opposing party, who must answer them in writing under oath; a discovery device in a lawsuit.
The District Court may not, in aid of enforcement or execution of a money judgment resulting from a small claim action under § 4-405 of this article, order an individual to:

(1) Appear for an examination; or

(2) Answer interrogatories.
