Terms Used In Michigan Laws 123.368

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • garbage disposal equipment: whenever used in this act , except when otherwise indicated by the context, shall be construed to mean all equipment or machinery of any nature whatsoever and all appurtenances thereto used or useful in treating and reducing garbage and similar waste materials prior to introduction into the sewer system of the city or village, including but not limited to garbage grinders: Provided, That when garbage grinders are installed for such disposal, the city or village shall have a sanitary sewage disposal plant into which the refuse from such garbage grinders is deposited for treatment.   • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, as well as to individuals. See Michigan Laws 8.3l
   No free service shall be furnished by any such garbage disposal equipment system to any person, firm or corporation, public or private, or to any public agent or instrumentality while any bonds issued in pursuance of this act shall remain unpaid.
