Terms Used In Michigan Laws 125.2325

  • Commission: means the manufactured housing commission. See Michigan Laws 125.2302
  • Installer and repairer: means a person, including a mobile home dealer, that for compensation installs or repairs mobile homes. See Michigan Laws 125.2302
  • Mobile home: means a structure that is transportable in 1 or more sections, built on a chassis, and designed to be used as a dwelling, with or without a permanent foundation, when connected to the required utilities, and includes the plumbing, heating, air-conditioning, and electrical systems contained in the structure. See Michigan Laws 125.2302
  • Mobile home park: means a parcel or tract of land under the control of a person upon which 3 or more mobile homes are located on a continual, nonrecreational basis and which is offered to the public for that purpose regardless of whether a charge is made for the parcel or tract of land, together with any building, structure, enclosure, street, equipment, or facility used or intended for use incident to the occupancy of a mobile home.   • Person: means an individual, partnership, association, trust, or corporation, or any other legal entity or combination of legal entities. See Michigan Laws 125.2302
  • Seasonal mobile home park: means a parcel or tract of land under the control of a person upon which 3 or more mobile homes are located on a continual or temporary basis but occupied on a temporary basis only, and which is offered to the public for that purpose regardless of whether a charge is made for the parcel or tract of land, together with any building, enclosure, street, equipment, or facility used or intended for use incident to the occupancy of a mobile home. See Michigan Laws 125.2302
  (1) The commission shall promulgate rules relating to the responsibility of the mobile home dealer, mobile home installer, and the mobile home park or seasonal mobile home park owner for installation and setup of a mobile home.
  (2) A person licensed under article 7, 8, or 11 of the skilled trades regulation act, MCL 339.5701 to 339.5739, 339.5801 to 339.5819, and 339.6101 to 339.6133, is not required to be licensed as a mobile home installer and repairer in order to perform work on mobile homes for which the person is licensed, unless the work performed also includes the setup, installation, or general repair of mobile homes.
  (3) Articles 7, 8, and 11 of the skilled trades regulation act, MCL 339.5701 to 339.5739, 339.5801 to 339.5819, and 339.6101 to 339.6133, do not apply to the setup or installation of a mobile home and the following connections or replacement or repair of the following connections, by a licensed mobile home installer and repairer:
  (a) Factory-installed electrical wiring, devices, appliances, or appurtenances to available electrical meters or pedestals.
  (b) Factory-installed piping, fixtures, plumbing appliances, and plumbing appurtenances to sanitary drainage or storm drainage facilities, venting systems, or public or private water supply systems.
  (c) Factory-installed process piping, heating and cooling equipment, and systems or supply lines to available service meters or mains.
