  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    All items of interest which may become due the state from banks or otherwise shall be entered on the books of the treasurer when received, in such manner that it shall appear upon what account and for what time such interest accrued.
