(1) The board shall meet not more than 30 days after it is constituted and elect from its members a chairperson, vice-chairperson and from its members, or otherwise, a secretary. The business which the board may perform shall be conducted at a public meeting of the board held in compliance with Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of 1976, being section 15.261 to 15.275 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. Public notice of the time, date, and place of the meeting shall be given in the manner required by Act No. 267 of the Public Acts of 1976.
  (2) Additional meetings of the board shall be held at times and places as the board determines. The board shall specify dates spaced at no more than 6-month intervals on which examinations for examiner‘s licenses will be held. A majority of the members of the board constitutes a quorum, and the vote of a majority of the board members is sufficient for passage of any business or proposal which comes before the board. Members of the board shall be reimbursed for actual and necessary travel and other expenses incurred in performing official duties.

  • Board: means the state board of forensic polygraph examiners. See Michigan Laws 338.1703
  • Examiner: means any person, other than an intern, who does any of the following:
  (i) Purports to detect deception, verify truthfulness, or provide a diagnostic opinion of these matters through instrumentation or the use of a mechanical device. See Michigan Laws 338.1703
  • Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
  • Quorum: The number of legislators that must be present to do business.
  •   (3) The board shall make an annual report of its activities to the governor beginning with the fiscal year ending June 30, 1973. The report and other writings prepared, owned, used, in the possession of, or retained by the board in performance of an official function shall be made available to the public in compliance with Act No. 442 of the Public Acts of 1976, being section 15.231 to 15.246 of the Michigan Compiled Laws.
