  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    The provisions of this act do not apply to property subject to the provisions of the uniform unclaimed property act, or to property subject to the provisions of Act No. 203 of the Public Acts of 1937, being section 28.401 to 28.406 of the Michigan Compiled Laws. The provisions of this act apply to personal effects of no intrinsic or commercial value of deceased, discharged, or escaped state hospital patients.
