  • state: when applied to the different parts of the United States, shall be construed to extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories belonging to the United States; and the words "United States" shall be construed to include the district and territories.    Whenever any alien shall be convicted of any felony under the laws of this state, or of any offense involving moral turpitude, it shall be the duty of the prosecuting attorney having charge of the prosecution of such persons so convicted to ascertain if there be grounds upon which the deportation of such alien might be secured under the immigration laws of the United States.
