In the primary election of 1974, the 4 candidates for the new judgeships, authorized in each court of appeals district pursuant to section 301 and 302, who receive the greatest number of votes in the respective district in that primary election are nominated to run in the 1974 general election in that district. The candidate for the new judgeships receiving the greatest number of votes in the 1974 general election in each court of appeals district is elected for a term of 10 years commencing January 1, 1975. The candidate for the new judgeships receiving the second highest number of votes in the general election in each court of appeals district is elected for a term of 8 years commencing January 1, 1975.
