Terms Used In Missouri Laws 108.190

  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • State: when applied to any of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories, and the words "United States" includes such district and territories. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The county commission or the governing authorities of any city, incorporated town or village, school district, or other political corporation or subdivision of the state, or any comptroller, collector or treasurer of any such county, city, incorporated town or village, or other political corporation or subdivision of the state, who shall fail to carry out the provisions of section 108.180, or violate any of the provisions thereof, shall be guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction shall be punished by a fine of not less than five hundred dollars nor more than one thousand dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail not to exceed one year, or by both such fine and imprisonment.
