  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Plaintiff: The person who files the complaint in a civil lawsuit.

Every person, corporation or copartnership of persons, to whom a license shall have been granted to vend goods, wares and merchandise, who has filed a correct statement as herein required, and failed to pay the amount of revenue so owing to the collector of the proper county, shall be deemed to have forfeited the license issued to him or them in virtue hereof, and judgment shall be rendered for the plaintiff in damages, for double the amount of such revenue and costs.
