Terms Used In Missouri Laws 313.850

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

The provisions of sections 313.800 to 313.850 are severable. If any provision of sections 313.800 to 313.850 is found by a court of competent jurisdiction to be unconstitutional, the remaining provisions are valid except to the extent that the court finds that the valid provisions, standing alone, are incomplete and are incapable of being executed in accordance with the legislative intent. The provisions of this section shall be operative notwithstanding the provisions of section 1.140 to the contrary.
