  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.

Such assistant prosecuting attorneys shall be commissioned for and hold their offices for the remainder of the term of the prosecuting attorney by whom they have been appointed, and in case of a vacancy by removal, death or resignation, the same shall be filled by appointment as herein provided.
