  • Ex officio: Literally, by virtue of one's office.
  • hereafter: means the time after the statute containing it takes effect. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020

The board of aldermen may by ordinance provide that hereafter the same person shall hold the offices of marshal and collector, in which case his official title shall be “marshal and ex officio collector”.
