Terms Used In Missouri Laws 79.510

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies politic and corporate, and to partnerships and other unincorporated associations. See Missouri Laws 1.020
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.

Whenever the county commission shall dissolve any such city of the fourth class, the said county commission shall appoint some competent person to act as trustee for the corporation so dissolved, and such trustee, before entering upon the discharge of his duties, shall take and subscribe an oath that he will faithfully discharge the duties of his office, and shall give bond with sufficient security, to be approved by the commission, to the use of such disincorporated city, conditioned for the faithful discharge of his duty.
