75-16-106. Equality of rights. This part does not accord a person injured or threatened with injury in another jurisdiction any rights superior to those that the person would have if injured or threatened with injury in this state.

Terms Used In Montana Code 75-16-106

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • Person: means an individual person, corporation, business trust, estate, partnership, association, joint venture, government in its private or public capacity, governmental subdivision or agency, or any other legal entity. See Montana Code 75-16-102
  • State: when applied to the different parts of the United States, includes the District of Columbia and the territories. See Montana Code 1-1-201
