1.  An importer‘s license shall authorize the holder thereof to be the first person in possession of such liquors within the State of Nevada after completion of the act of importation of liquors which are brewed, fermented or produced outside of the State.

Terms Used In Nevada Revised Statutes 369.390

  • importer: means any person who, in the case of liquors which are brewed, fermented or produced outside the State, is first in possession thereof within the State after completion of the act of importation. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.030
  • liquor: means beer, wine, gin, whiskey, cordials, ethyl alcohol or rum, and every liquid containing one-half of 1 percent or more of alcohol by volume and which is used for beverage purposes. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.040
  • permissible person: means any duly ordained minister who uses liquor for sacramental purposes, any doctor, apothecary or pharmaceutist who uses alcohol for or in compounding medicine, or the representative of any school, university, hospital, clinic or industrial concern where liquor is used and needed for industrial purposes and not for concocting beverages for drink. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.070
  • person: means a natural person, any form of business or social organization and any other nongovernmental legal entity including, but not limited to, a corporation, partnership, association, trust or unincorporated organization. See Nevada Revised Statutes 0.039
  • wholesaler: means a person licensed to sell liquor as it is originally packaged to retail liquor stores or to another licensed wholesaler, or to transfer malt beverages and wine to an estate distillery pursuant to NRS 597. See Nevada Revised Statutes 369.130

2.  An importer’s license shall permit the holder thereof to import liquor to the place specified therein and to no other place. It shall not authorize the sale or transfer for sale of any type of liquor. In order to make such sale or transfer the licensee must first secure the appropriate license or licenses applicable to the class or classes of business in which that licensee is engaged. The transfer of liquor from a licensed importer to itself as a licensed wholesaler shall not be deemed a sale.

3.  Every permissible person must procure a permit.
