Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 112:7

  • Armed forces: means the United States Army, Army Reserve, Navy, Naval Reserve, Marine Corps, Marine Corps Reserve, Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Space Force, Coast Guard, Coast Guard Reserve, Army National Guard, and the Air National Guard. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:50
  • Continuance: Putting off of a hearing ot trial until a later time.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
  • Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
  • United States: shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
The term of office of any employee other than those elected by the general court entering the armed forces of the United States for which a temporary appointment is authorized under this chapter shall be held in abeyance during the continuance of such service. The remainder of said term shall not begin to run until 60 days after the person is discharged or has a right to discharge from the armed forces of the United States. If the unexpired term is not applied for as provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 112:8, the unexpired term shall be completed by the person appointed under N.H. Rev. Stat. § 112:2.
