Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 163-B:1

  • litter: means all rubbish, refuse, garbage, trash, debris, dead animals or other discarded materials of every kind and description. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 163-B:2
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
It is the intention of the legislature by this chapter to provide for uniform prohibition throughout the state of any and all littering on public or private property and to curb thereby the desecration of the beauty of the state and harm to the health, welfare and safety of its citizens caused by individuals who litter.
