Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 477:36

  • Deed: The legal instrument used to transfer title in real property from one person to another.
  • Grantor: The person who establishes a trust and places property into it.
  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
  • person: may extend and be applied to bodies corporate and politic as well as to individuals. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:9
No deed of bargain and sale, mortgage or other conveyance of standing trees, or any lease of the same for more than 7 years from the making thereof shall be valid to hold standing trees against any person but the grantor and his heirs only unless acknowledged and recorded as provided in N.H. Rev. Stat. § 477:37 and 477:38.
