  • Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.
  • justice: when applied to a magistrate, shall mean a justice of a municipal court, or a justice of the peace having jurisdiction over the subject-matter. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:12
When goods or chattels are unlawfully withheld from the owner, proceedings in equity may be had for a discovery, for a restoration of the property and for such other relief as justice may require.
