Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 514:15

  • Complaint: A written statement by the plaintiff stating the wrongs allegedly committed by the defendant.
  • petition: when used in connection with the equity jurisdiction of the superior court, and referring to a document filed with the court, shall mean complaint, and "petitioner" shall mean plaintiff. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:51
  • Summons: Another word for subpoena used by the criminal justice system.
Any application, motion, complaint, libel, or petition, for any cause of action, may be filed in the clerk’s office, in vacation, and a summons issued thereon under the rules of the court.
