Terms Used In New Hampshire Revised Statutes 564:6

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
  • National Bank: A bank that is subject to the supervision of the Comptroller of the Currency. The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency is a bureau of the U.S. Treasury Department. A national bank can be recognized because it must have "national" or "national association" in its name. Source: OCC
  • Probate: Proving a will
  • state: when applied to different parts of the United States, may extend to and include the District of Columbia and the several territories, so called; and the words "United States" shall include said district and territories. See New Hampshire Revised Statutes 21:4
  • Trustee: A person or institution holding and administering property in trust.
Any national bank desiring to be appointed trustee shall first file with the attorney general, in such form as he may direct, its consent to an examination of its trust department by the bank commissioners of this state, and acknowledge itself amenable to the jurisdiction of the probate courts of this state.
