Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 18A:6-30
- Board: means the board of education. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
- Dismissal: The dropping of a case by the judge without further consideration or hearing. Source:
- Employment: includes employment in a position. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. - Public school: means a school, under college grade, which derives its support entirely or in part from public funds. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
- State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Any person holding office, position or employment in the public school system of the state, who shall be illegally dismissed or suspended therefrom, shall be entitled to compensation for the period covered by the illegal dismissal or suspension, if such dismissal or suspension shall be finally determined to have been without good cause, upon making written application therefor with the board or body by whom he was employed, within 30 days after such determination.
