Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 18A:64A-28.4

  • County college: means an educational institution established or to be established by one or more counties, offering programs of instruction, extending not more than two years beyond the high school, which may include but need not be limited to specialized or comprehensive curriculums, including college credit transfer courses, terminal courses in the liberal arts and sciences, and technical institute type programs.   • Higher education: means that education which is provided by any or all of the public institutions of higher education as herein defined and any or all equivalent private institutions. See New Jersey Statutes 18A:1-1
8. The council shall encourage and aid movements which it deems necessary for the improvement of county college education and shall, from time to time, make recommendations to the Governor, Legislature and Commission on Higher Education regarding the coordination of the county colleges on matters of mutual interest and concern.
