  • County college: means an educational institution established or to be established by one or more counties, offering programs of instruction, extending not more than two years beyond the high school, which may include but need not be limited to specialized or comprehensive curriculums, including college credit transfer courses, terminal courses in the liberal arts and sciences, and technical institute type programs. For the purposes of defraying the expenses of the council, the county colleges and county college commissions shall pay the necessary expenses incurred by the council and shall appropriate annually such sums for dues as may be assessed by the council. The assessment shall be made only upon a two-thirds vote of the membership present at the meeting after written notice of the proposed vote shall be given to each county college and county college commission at least 60 days before the council meeting at which the vote will be taken. Dues shall be on a graduated scale according to the size of the county college and county college commission.
