Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 3B:12-70

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
4. The surrogate’s court of the county in which a minor child resides or has real or personal property shall have jurisdiction under this act pursuant to N.J.S. 3B:12-12
