Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 43:21-4.3

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 1. The Commissioner of Labor and Workforce Development shall give written notification to any individual receiving unemployment compensation pursuant to R.S.43:21-1 et seq., including any State or federal extension of the unemployment compensation, of the date of the final exhaustion of all unemployment compensation for the individual, not less than four weeks prior to that date. The written notification shall include a referral for services from the Department of Human Services and any other appropriate State agency to counsel and assist the individual to obtain any resources which may be available for the individual and dependents of the individual, including assistance regarding housing, child care, food, mental health, addiction services, and health care coverage. The notification shall be distributed in a manner deemed by the commissioner to be the most practicable and cost effective, but that will ensure timely personal notification of each person.
