Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 43:4A-1

  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State.   • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
Any person who is an elected member of any board of trustees or commission established under chapter 13 of Title 18 of the Revised Statutes, chapter 37 of the laws of 1955, chapter 220 of the laws of 1941, chapter 16 of Title 43 of the Revised Statutes, chapter 255 of the laws of 1944, chapter 423 of the laws of 1953 and chapter 84 of the laws of 1954, shall be entitled to time off from his State, county, municipal or school district duties, with pay, during the periods of his attendance upon regular or special meetings of the board of trustees or its duly appointed committees, and such time off shall include reasonable travel time required in connection therewith.
