Terms Used In New Jersey Statutes 43:7-15

  • Obligation: An order placed, contract awarded, service received, or similar transaction during a given period that will require payments during the same or a future period.
  • person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
  • State: extends to and includes any State, territory or possession of the United States, the District of Columbia and the Canal Zone. See New Jersey Statutes 1:1-2
If any such prison officer shall be suspended, resigned, dropped or discharged from his employment after having paid the aforesaid assessments for a period over one year, and whose suspension or discharge shall continue for a period longer than two years, he shall be entitled to the return of such moneys as he shall have paid into such pension fund by reason of the assessments aforesaid, but such person shall not thereafter be eligible for a pension under this act unless upon a re-employment by the State he shall repay to such fund the amount of any rebate made to him. The obligation to refund payments made to the pension association shall not apply to any pension officer suspended or discharged for causes which bar him from eligibility to reappointment under the civil service rules. No other refund of assessments collected from the salaries of such pension officers shall be made.
