- person: includes corporations, companies, associations, societies, firms, partnerships and joint stock companies as well as individuals, unless restricted by the context to an individual as distinguished from a corporate entity or specifically restricted to one or some of the above enumerated synonyms and, when used to designate the owner of property which may be the subject of an offense, includes this State, the United States, any other State of the United States as defined infra and any foreign country or government lawfully owning or possessing property within this State. 10. A person shall not interfere with, restrain, or deny the exercise of, or the attempt to exercise, any right protected under this act. If the division determines that a housing provider has engaged in one or more unlawful actions against a person with the intent of retaliating for the person’s filing of an action against the housing provider pursuant to section 12 of this act, then each unlawful retaliatory action shall be enforced, pursuant to section 12 of this act, as a separate and distinct violation of this act.
