(a)        Repealed by Session Laws 2007-428, s. 4, effective August 23, 2007.

(b)        Nothing in this Article prohibits counties from establishing service districts for road maintenance under Part 1, Article 16 of Chapter 153A of the N.C. Gen. Stat..

(c)        A county is authorized to participate in the cost of rights-of-way, construction, reconstruction, improvement, or maintenance of a road on the State highway system under agreement with the Department of Transportation. County participation in improvements to the State highway system is voluntary.
