A qualified organization shall develop and implement written policies and procedures for employees, including policies and procedures on all of the following topics:

Terms Used In Ohio Code 2151.908

  • Child: means a person who is under eighteen years of age, except that the juvenile court has jurisdiction over any person who is adjudicated an unruly child prior to attaining eighteen years of age until the person attains twenty-one years of age, and, for purposes of that jurisdiction related to that adjudication, a person who is so adjudicated an unruly child shall be deemed a "child" until the person attains twenty-one years of age. See Ohio Code 2151.011
  • Organization: means any institution, public, semipublic, or private, and any private association, society, or agency located or operating in the state, incorporated or unincorporated, having among its functions the furnishing of protective services or care for children, or the placement of children in certified foster homes or elsewhere. See Ohio Code 2151.011
  • Rule: includes regulation. See Ohio Code 1.59

(A) Familiarization of the employee with emergency and safety procedures;

(B) The principles and practices of child care;

(C) Administrative structure, procedures, and overall program goals of the qualified organization;

(D) Appropriate techniques of behavior management;

(E) Techniques and methodologies for crisis management;

(F) Familiarization of the employee with the disciplinary procedures outlined in rule 5101:2-9-21 of the Ohio Administrative Code, the discipline and behavior intervention policies required by rule 5101:2-5-13 of the Ohio Administrative Code, and any other similar requirements;

(G) Procedures for reporting suspected child abuse or neglect under section 2151.421 of the Revised Code;

(H) An emergency medical plan;

(I) Universal precautions;

(J) Knowledge and skills to understand and address the issues confronting adolescents.
