Ohio Code 4713.56 – Posting license or certificate
Every holder of a practicing license, instructor license, independent contractor license, or boutique service registration issued by the state cosmetology and barber board shall maintain the board-issued, wallet-sized license or electronically generated license certification or registration and a current government-issued photo identification that can be produced upon inspection or request.
Terms Used In Ohio Code 4713.56
- Cosmetology: means the art or practice of embellishment, cleansing, beautification, and styling of hair, wigs, postiches, face, body, or nails. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- Independent contractor: means an individual who is not an employee of a salon but practices a branch of cosmetology within a salon in a licensed facility. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- Instructor license: means a license to teach the theory and practice of a branch of cosmetology at a school of cosmetology. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- Practicing license: means a license to practice a branch of cosmetology in a licensed facility. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- Salon: means a licensed facility on any premises, building, or part of a building in which an individual engages in the practice of one or more branches of cosmetology. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- School of cosmetology: means any premises, building, or part of a building in which students are instructed in the theories and practices of one or more branches of cosmetology. See Ohio Code 4713.01
- state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59
Every holder of a license to operate a salon issued by the board shall display the license in a public and conspicuous place in the salon.
Every holder of a license to operate a school of cosmetology issued by the board shall display the license in a public and conspicuous place in the school.
Every individual who provides massage therapy or other professional service in a salon under section 4713.42 of the Revised Code shall maintain the individual’s professional license or certificate or electronically generated license certification or registration and a state of Ohio issued photo identification that can be produced upon inspection or request.
