(A) A person licensed by another state or country in the practice of chiropractic may apply under this section for a license to practice chiropractic in this state in lieu of applying under section 4734.20 of the Revised Code. The fee for applying under this section shall be five hundred dollars.

Terms Used In Ohio Code 4734.23

  • Another: when used to designate the owner of property which is the subject of an offense, includes not only natural persons but also every other owner of property. See Ohio Code 1.02
  • Person: includes an individual, corporation, business trust, estate, trust, partnership, and association. See Ohio Code 1.59
  • practice of chiropractic: means utilization of the relationship between the musculo-skeletal structures of the body, the spinal column, and the nervous system in the restoration and maintenance of health, in connection with which patient care is conducted with due regard for first aid, hygienic, nutritional, and rehabilitative procedures and the specific vertebral adjustment and manipulation of the articulations and adjacent tissues of the body.   • state: means the state of Ohio. See Ohio Code 1.59

(B) The state chiropractic board may, for good cause, waive all or part of the educational and testing requirements specified under section 4734.20 of the Revised Code and issue a license to an applicant under this section, if the applicant presents satisfactory proof of being licensed to practice chiropractic in another state or country where the requirements for receipt of the license, on the date the license was issued, are considered by the board to be substantially equivalent to those of this chapter. The applicant must meet the same age requirement that must be met under section 4734.20 of the Revised Code. If the board does not waive all of the educational and testing requirements, the board may require that the applicant complete and receive a score specified by the board on one or more tests administered by the board or by the national board of chiropractic examiners or another testing entity.
