(1) The Judicial Department Operating Account is established in the State Treasury, separate and distinct from the General Fund. Interest earned by the account shall be credited to the account. All moneys in the account are continuously appropriated to the Judicial Department and may be used only to pay the operating expenses of the department.
Terms Used In Oregon Statutes 1.009
- judicial department: means the Supreme Court, the Court of Appeals, the Oregon Tax Court, the circuit courts and all administrative divisions of those courts, whether denominated as boards, commissions, committees or departments or by any other designation. See Oregon Statutes 174.113
- State Treasury: includes those financial assets the lawful custody of which are vested in the State Treasurer and the office of the State Treasurer relating to the custody of those financial assets. See Oregon Statutes 174.100
(2) All moneys received by the department pursuant to ORS § 151.216 (1)(i) shall be deposited in the Judicial Department Operating Account.
(3) The department may accept gifts, grants or contributions from any source, whether public or private, for deposit in the Judicial Department Operating Account. [2003 c.737 § 83; 2021 c.202 § 3; 2023 c.281 § 15]
