(1) The Department of Transportation and any unit of government that participates in a transportation project may establish advisory committees to advise the department or the unit of government with respect to transportation projects. An advisory committee shall consist of not fewer than five and not more than nine members, as determined by the department. Members shall be appointed by the department, or in a manner agreed to by the department and any participating unit of government.

  • Transportation project: means any project or undertaking that facilitates any mode of transportation within this state. See Oregon Statutes 367.010

(2) At the request of the department, an advisory committee may review concepts or proposals for transportation projects and submit recommendations to the department or the participating unit of government.

(3) An advisory committee shall meet as necessary at times and places fixed by the department or the participating unit of government. The department shall provide personnel services to assist the advisory committee within the limits of available funds. An advisory committee may adopt rules to govern its proceedings and may select officers. [2003 c.790 § 12]
